Women's Trip 10 Rods Total, 8 Rods Currently Available

Kay Fly Fishing Lodge is located in Punta Allen, within the Sian Ka’an Biosphere on the edge of the Great Mayan Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. We’ll be targeting Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, and Snook. Jacks, Barracuda, Snapper and other species are also cruising the flats. The migratory Tarpon are not in the area at this time. Lily Bertrum (lodge owner) reports solid numbers of
<![if !vml]><![endif]> the ‘big 3’, (Tarpon, Permit and Bones) are in the area for those who are looking to 'slam'.

This is truly a family owned and operated lodge offering an authentic experience. Lily and Jose have each been guiding and managing lodges in Punta Allen for 18-20 years. They are both exceptional anglers as well! They are onsite with their team of local guides and cooks. Breakfast options include eggs, meats, fruit and the traditional Huevos
<![if !vml]><![endif]> Rancheros. Your lunch includes sandwiches, chips, fruit and plenty of water, sodas or a couple of beers. Local chefs strive to offer seafood or Mexican dinners that will allow you to experience authentic flavors while you are in Mexico.

Boats go out most days with both a head guide and an apprentice guide (with two anglers) making this a great trip for anglers of all levels. Most of Kay Fly’s head guides have been with them over 10 years -all over 5 years. Most apprentice guides at least 5 years.  The Sian Ka’an Biosphere offers the chance to see 325 species of birds, four species of turtles, dolphins, manatee’s and an abundance of other wildlife. New anglers will have plenty of shots to land fish, as many species are plentiful. Particularly Bonefish, ‘the ghost of the flats’. $3,999 Double Occupancy

Bahamas! Mangrove Cay Club, March 1-7, 2023 -1 Spot Left!
The flats surrounding Andros Island are some of the best bonefishing in the world. The fish are plentiful and average 3 to 5 pounds with regular appearances of 6 to 10 pound fish. Several 11, 12 and 13 pound fish are landed every season. In fact, some of the largest fish have been taken within sight of the lodge. You’ll have plenty of shots whether you are new to saltwater or an expert. Beginners will be able to land their first bone and chase the big ones! Advanced anglers can target the big bones you won't find in other destinations. Regardless, if you have not fished the Bahamas, it is something that should be on your bucket list. Landing these big bonefish is truly next level!

If you don't get enough fishing in on the flats during the day, further adventure awaits from the dock at the lodge. Shark visit the area frequently (encouraged by a bit of chumming from the lodge). Bulls, blacktip, lemon and nurse sharks frequently cruise by. The lodge will have spinning gear ready for some evening entertainment with sharks or other species if you are so inclined. You can also relax on the edge of the water or by the pool with your beverage and take in the ocean breezes and views.

Mangrove Cay Club offers beautiful duplex bungalows with two beds in each that overlook the sea. Rooms include a spacious bedroom, private outdoor patio and indoor sitting area. The common area includes an office with phones and high speed wireless for your use as well as common sitting areas to visit and recap the adventures of the day.

Meals here are superb! Cracked conch, conch fritters, grouper nuggets, stone crab claws, hot lobster dip, crudités and chicken wings are some of the items you will find on the hors d’oeuvres table. Chef Iyke prepares seafood caught daily for dinner and  a wide variety of meats, cheeses and salads for your choice at lunch. Fresh ground coffee or tea is delivered around 6:15 and made to order breakfasts begin at 7. Most beer, wine, liquor and mixed drinks are included.

We have a fantastic group of ladies signed up for this trip -most of whom have participated in Finatical Flyfishing trips and events previously. All levels of anglers are welcome. Join us to meet a wonderful group and have a great time 'on the salt'!

Green River 2022 Trip Report
(2023 will be June 22-26)
What an amazing group we had ....and they killed it! The first day was slow as weather, flows and other unknown factors appeared to be messing with us. Two Rivers guides worked incredibly hard to put us on fish all three days and boy did that happen! All of these ladies landed multiple fish over 18".  Crystal and Janis headed below the damn on the last day.... where Crystal landed a 22" fish! Still not sure who was more excited Crystal or guide Kolten! You can check out other pics on our Facebook and Instagram pages

Not only did they catch fish but they are such amazing women off the water.  All very talented, successful women who are so much fun. Jan and Donna came back from a day with Rusti..."That was the best day I have had in a very long time." Belly laughs and big fish with great peeps.... does it get any better?? Thank you all!
