Green River Magic: Recap on Incredible Trips

We had two fantastic groups join us on the Green River this year, and both did incredibly well. It was an honor to welcome so many returning Finatical Flyfishing clients—some who met on past trips and others who were brand new. Even more special? Watching friendships blossom between women who had fished with us internationally and those who'd joined us for domestic adventures. That’s the magic of these trips—great fishing, even better company.

With access to both the Green and New Fork Rivers, our guides and anglers had 35–40 unique stretches of water to choose from each day—all within easy driving distance. Mother Nature was kind, blessing us with mostly sunny summer days. Aside from one chilly morning, we stayed dry while neighboring states dealt with storms and rain.

This region is entirely fed by snowmelt from the Wind River Range, and with no dams to regulate flow, timing is everything. We hit it just right—post-runoff and into the heart of the summer hatches. There were drakes and a mix of other insects coming off, and dry fly fishing stole the show for most of the trip. Everyone was into multiple large fish daily, and several trout stretched well over 20 inches.

Our accommodations gave each angler their own room, and we gathered for delicious shared meals each morning and evening. Highlights? Shrimp tacos, fresh salmon, and melt-in-your-mouth authentic Mexican food. Let's just say the only thing more competitive than the fishing was the cornhole tournament—rumor has it, some took it very seriously...

We’re thrilled to have our favorite guides lined up again for next year, and spots are already filling quickly. Thinking about joining us? Here's what one happy guest had to say:

“This trip in Pinedale was fantastic! Loved the rooms! The guides—Kolton, Drew, and Liam—were experts and great company! Steph takes care of every detail. I had a terrific time with the other women on the trip! Good fun after fishing! Loved it!”
