Gratitude
As the fall season winds down and we approach the holidays, there is nothing but gratitute to share with all of you. 2024 has served us all well with many new friendships, great experiences, and, who could forget the fishing? Although there are too many personal success stories to recap here, some of your highlights included: 13 Permit to hand and a very large Tarpon for the ladies group in Mexico, some large Dorado under the Argentine sun,  and plenty of "Ranch Fish" landed by the ladies who came to the Henry's Fork. We'll again be featuring 2024 highlights on Instagram during our annual "Thankful, Grateful, Blessed" campaign this holiday season so be sure to check them out!

Thank you for your continued support in making Finatical Flyfishing what it is today. Your support of the women's trips, couples trips and private bookings has been phenomenal and I can't thank you enough. .You've also offered great ideas for improvements and new trips. Some of those trips have been added to the line-up (and completed) and some are on the books and await our departure. Rest assured there are many good things still to come.

A big thank you also goes out to all of the guides, lodges, fly shops, support teams and others behind the scenes; who truly make our days on the water so memorable.

Wishing you a very joyous season ahead with the many blessings of family, friends and cherised time together.

Henry's Fork
August 14-18, 2025  -New Dates, Filling Fast!

The Henry’s Fork is a bucket list river and we’ll spend three days fishing the heart of it from Island Park, Idaho. Our guides fish nine sections of the Henry’s Fork including the world famous section known as ‘The Ranch’. Whether you like technical dry fly fishing or you are new to the game, there is something for you. August dates bring out the terrestrials in addition to Tricos, Caddis and PMD’s. This time of year can also be great for 'the gulpers' on Quake or Hebgen Lake. The Madison is only about 45 minutes away as well. Plenty of options to choose from. We'll match you with like minded anlgers who have similar goals for the trip.

The weekend begins with a group casting lesson with Millie Paini  at TroutHunter then we'll head to our private accomodations for happy hour. Single or double occupancy space is available. You'll have the opportunity to enjoy your quiet time, call home to your loved ones in privacy and get to know the group during breakfast, happy hour and dinner each day. Enjoy some time on the deck, hot tub or large family room with the group.

It is a beautiful time; warm summer days and nights, and the sounds and sights of wildlife on the river and near our cabin. Eagles and Osprey, Herons and Cranes all make regular appearances. Past river appearances also include Mouse, Deer, Elk and even Bear!

Three days guided fishing, four nights lodging, all meals, beer/wine with dinner and the casting lesson with Millie are all included.

Alaska
July 20-26, 2025 -One Spot Now Open!

Copper River Lodge offers an incredible Alaskan experience and is based on the Copper River near Pope Vannoy landing. There is only one permit to fish on the native owned Copper River and this lodge shares it with one other lodge. The limited access allows Copper River Lodge to leave jet boats on the upper Copper and access water that very few people fish. In addition, there is access to the Gibraltar River, Katmai National Park (including the famous Moraine Creek drainage), Lake Clark National Park, the Kvichak River (going into Bristol Bay), and the Kijik. There are plenty of additional options within a 30 minute flight.  Most days, especially those on the Copper, are spent wading and not fishing from a boat. Boats are primarily used for transport to the desired fishing locations.

This is a small family style operation which will take only 7 guests. Six days of fishing include at least 3-4 days of fly outs and a multitude of options out the back door on the Copper River and other rivers close to the lodge. July is prime time for trout and Sockeye Salmon with dry droppers, mice, and some streamers. There are also Grayling, Northern Pike and possibly Lake Trout. The lodge has a float plane, a lake boat, several jet boats and rafts all of which will be available for our small group each day.

Accommodations are in small private cabins and the main lodge hosts all meals and includes a nice family room and beautiful deck overlooking the river to swap fish stories. Copper Rivers kitchen staff provides gourmet meals daily including freshly baked bread, pastries and more. Dietary restrictions can easily be accommodated.

The bears, rainbow and salmon Alaska is known for await! See and fish the famous Moraine Creek drainage where the bears will be snacking on Salmon and take in a world like nothing we have in the lower forty-eight. This trip has been sold out since in launched in April but one angler who grabbed a spot needs to take care of a family situation at home. One spot available.

Cuba -Women's Trip
February 28-March 7, 2026

We’ll be fishing 6 days and spending 7 nights on a liveaboard that will move us to a new fishing location each day in the areas of Isla de Juventud and Cayo Largo. Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Snook, Barracuda, Jacks and more. Flyfishing in Cuba is different from other destinations in the Caribbean. Only in recent years has this flats fishery been developed. Cuba has given the pristine areas protection as Cuban National Marine Parks, where no commercial fishing is allowed other than for lobster.

The area around Canarreos is a well-kept secret. It has an untouched coral reef flanked by mangrove keys and islands with unparalleled nursery habitat for a whole host of fish species. This is is complemented by neighboring keys inhabited by numerous species of flora and fauna, among them iguanas, pelicans and turtles.

A liveaboard means you experience several fishing destinations during one trip because you are always moving. Once we leave the port you won’t see other anglers or boats in the areas we fish. The stars at night from the top deck of your ship are incredible. We’ll fish from skiffs each day and board the boat each evening for drinks, relaxation, possibly a little ocean swim or hot tub prior to dinner.

Cuba is moving to fewer fishing permits to protect their flats and prices are going up in 2026. Canarreos will increase but will not double as some other areas will. If you want to see Cuba..... sooner rather than later is your best bet.
