Blackfoot River, Montana
Couples Trip
June 6-10, 2026
Fly fishing on the Blackfoot inspired Norman Maclean's acclaimed book: A River Runs Through It. We’ll be based on the North Fork of the Blackfoot at Pro Outfitters North Fork Camp and these dates have been perfect for the Salmon fly hatch in recent years. We’ll have a large variety of options, including small and large rivers; streams, spring creeks and tributaries which we float or wade.

There are both walk-wade and float options as you wish. The majority of our time is spent on the North Fork and main stem of the Blackfoot, and the Clark Fork. The canyon not far from the lodge is something everyone should float and see. Stunningly beautiful. However there are a large number of floats very near the lodge that will give all anglers plenty of options each day. The team will also spread everyone out on different sections for optimal fishing. If all of this isn’t enough…. The Missouri is only an hour away. Should you want to see it, arrangements can be made to fish that too.
Blackfoot River, Montana
The Blackfoot River and surrounding valley are breathtakingly beautiful; under developed & remote. The river is an amazing fishery and you will have many opportunities to fish for rainbows, browns, and the beautiful native westslope cutthroats. Fish average around sixteen inches but there are certainly larger fish in the river. There are also a few Bull Trout who have been known to find lunch via the smaller fish that may hit your line. Not an every day occurrence but certainly something to keep you on your toes!
