Are you itching for summer fishing every year? Thermopolis, Wyoming and the Big Horn river are another hidden gem. When other locations are still looking at run off and snow, average temps in May are 71 degrees at an elevation of 4,331. Historically speaking, this tailwater (below Boysen reservoir) offers some great nymph and streamer fishing in the morning and dry fly fishing in the afternoon during mid-May. The browns, rainbows and cutthroat average 16-18”.

The river is flanked with beautiful red rock canyons. Thermopolis is known for having the largest mineral hot springs in the world so you can make time for a soak while you are in town. The sections of river that fish best are very close to town so your morning commute is generally less than 15 minutes!

Two Rivers Fishing

We’ll be fishing with award winning Two Rivers Fishing Co., an Orvis endorsed shop that has been guiding trips and developing their program in Thermopolis for several years. If you've done the Green River trip, you'll remember these gentlemen and they are excited to have us in Thermopolis too.

Travel to Thermopolis:

Meet us in Thermopolis, Wyoming on May 16th in time for dinner with the group. Fishing dates are May 17, 18, 19. Departure on the morning of the 20th. Flights into Thermopolis are offered by United and Alaska Air at this time. You can also fly into Jackson Hole, WY and it is about three and a half hours from there.

Accommodations

We have two riverside homes in Thermopolis. One bedroom can accomodate two anglers and the other rooms will be single occupancy. We will have laundry facilites on site, a hot tub at the home and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy the group and have some privacy too. Meals will be catered in and beer and wine will be available enjoy on the deck after fishing or with dinner.
