Argentina 2026 & Katka Svgrova In 2026 we'll have two women's weeks in Argentina and we are excited to announce that Katka Svgrova will be joining us for part of each week. Katka is a 7 time Czech ladies national champion and she won the individual ladies world flyfishing championship in 2022. She has several other individual and team medals and we'll be rolling out exciting opportunities at the lodge with Katka shortly.
We'll visit two different lodges within the El Encuentro family. Starting at the base of the Andes, we will be staying on the banks of the Futaleufu (also referred to as the Rio Grande) and able to walk-wade or float there. Choices in this region also include fishing many spring creeks or hunting trophy trout in the lakes. Mid week we fish our way into Los Alceres national park where we'll fish Rio Carrileufu, the Rio Rivadavia, the Rio Arrayanes or the Rio Chubut. Wade fishing on the Rivadavia (spring creek) is a great option or, you can hunt large rainbows and browns at Lago Cholila, Rivadavia, Verde or Laguna Eduardo.
Los Alerces National Park, is protected by the UNESCO organization and a World Heritage Site. Like our Redwoods and Sequoias, the Alerce tree (the second longest living tree species in the world) is protected and only grows in this area. Some of these trees are over 2000 years old. Majestic mountains with glaciers formed these valleys resulting in crystal clear water -making every lake and river a perfect spot for sight fishing. You’ll watch the healthy and abundant trout cruising the rivers, pools and lake shores.
Expereince the fishing, the scenic national parks, asado, tango, malbec, mate and more as you make the most of your flyfishing travels. We pack it all into the schedule for you to experinece and take home memories that will last a lifetime.
There are only four spots left for women's week 2026 in Argentina. If you have ever considered this trip.... grab a spot or let us put you on a the list to receive more information about Katka soon! |

Join us for four nights lodging, three days of guided fishing, all meals and beer/wine with dinner. Single and double occupancy avaialble. Arrive in Thermopolis in time for dinner with the group on the first day and we’ll have the recent fishing reports in hand. We'll share all the details and planning with you over happy hour.
