Mexico Trip Report & the last summer options

Mexico Trip Report
We just completed two great weeks in Mexico with team Kay Fly. The women's week started off with some tough weather but Jenn pulled her first permit -which of course was followed by the traditional scorpion party at week's end. The rest of us had quite a few permit shots. Certainly some follow's and eats -we all landed tarpon, snook, bones and more.  A Mexico reunion for many of us...this annual event was filled by many who returned Kay Fly and other women angler friends. Couldn't be more grateful.

The second week the weather continued to improve and we had several permit hooked, almost landed, and four to hand. That included one slam! Congrats Joan! The week also included serious cornhole competitions and a lot of laughter, inside jokes and great times with fishy friends. My words on these topics probably don't do justice.... so I'll be grateful and let the party leaders speak to the rest.

Due to several angler requests, the second week was a 'mixed group'. Three couples and six solo ladies who mixed and matched with guides and fishing partners. This is an example of Finatical Flyfishing listening to what you all want and doing our best to making it happen. Please keep the requests coming -happy to share more details on this week if you are interested.

A big thank you to all who came out for both weeks and the incredible team at Kay Fly. Amazing food, Pepe's margaritas and post fishing hospitality, and a fishy and patient guide team who always finds 'one more chance'. To all of those who got their fish -congrats. To those who were so close... yep, we're going back and it will happen next year. Thanks for a great time with great peeps!

Check out the social media for photo's and video on all things Mexico. These dates are filling fast -reach out if you are intersted in joining us.

Big Horn Women's Trip
May 10-14, 2025  -Almost full!

Are you itching for summer fishing every year? Thermopolis, Wyoming and the Big Horn river are another hidden gem. When other locations are still looking at run off and snow, average temps in May are 71. Historically speaking, this tailwater (below Boysen reservoir) offers some great nymph and streamer fishing in the morning and dry fly fishing in the afternoon during mid-May. The browns, rainbows and cutthroat average 16-19” and the red rocks along the river are a beautiful back drop.

Join us for four nights lodging, three days of guided fishing, all meals and beer/wine with dinner. Single and double occupancy avaialble. Arrive in Thermopolis in time for dinner with the group on the first day and we’ll have the recent fishing reports in hand. We'll share  all the details and planning with you over happy hour. Our lodging will be in two homes along the river. Sit on the deck, partake in the hot tub, venture over to the local hot springs or do some walking through this small town before or after the fishing.

Henry's Fork Women's Trip
August 14-18

One of our most popular trips... and it is almost full. Join us for a group casting lesson, four nights, three days of guided fishing on the Henry's Fork, all meals and beer/wine with dinner. There are multiple options for anglers of all levels to fish. From the highly technical 'Ranch' fishing to less technical fishing on other sections. Our location allows us to consider everything from the Madison down to the lower Henry's Fork -and a few not so well known options along the way.  This one is almost full and we'd love to have you grab a spot.

Saltwater Options
2025 is off to a great start and it filled fast. If you are interested in securing a spot for 2026, let's chat. Beginners to advanced anglers, we all improve by just getting out there with great guides and learning. The Mexico trip report is a great example. Two anglers who had never done saltwater trips landed their first permit in Mexico. One of them slammed!

For those who relish in the saltwater vibe.... we just returned from two incredible weeks with Kay Fly and couldn't be more honored to go back and fish with these talented Punta Allen friends. Guides are so critical to a successful trip -and all of our trips are based on this element.

Shoot us a request for 2026 options based on your preferences....
